my English is not excellent , so i have to improve it with anybody who can speak English

maybe i have some spelling mistakes or somethings like that , but i will correct that by my self or by my own.

any person who would likes to speak a language in the world, he should speak it with his friends to learn and improve it .

ok it is really a nice step forward, i encourage you to the highest level and i am going to support everybody who is interested in english and the way of speaking and i am going to manage this topic daily

day after day i realize what people call destiny

are we predestined, or we have a free will???

i asked myself this question many times and i have never found the answer
but today i may say that every single move we do is predestined and connected to reason

God created us and we are always moving in two ways the first is the evil and the second is the goodness

He gave us mind to think and decided which way to take but in both cases we only have two ways in live one can leads to happiness in the hereafter
and the other leads to eternal doom in hell

maybe those two ways are found in every single aspect in our life for example when you were 6 you had the choice either to study or stay at home
later when you were 12 you had the choice either to go on studying or to bury yourself in child labor
when you were 15 you had the choice either to go for general studies or professional studies
when you were 16 you had the choice to study either scientific or literary approach
both are fine but some decide not to take both and leave the school for work

later when you are 18 you need to choose which department that suit you the best
not all of you chose what he really wanted because of his GPA
but are we destined in this case??
yes, we are
why??
you may have the chance to choose between studying and wasting your time

as you can see we are always walking in two ways and the best of us who coose the best and leave the rest

the most important step is to speak and talk with our colleagues in order to able to speak English more fluently. later step by step we become more accustomed with speaking and writing and start to speak as the native speakers

I hope you are alright
First, I will thank everyone sharing in this angle and especially Salam for giving us (English Department Students) this chance to speak before others.
Then, and this is a piece of advice to all students: "in order to be a good speaker you have to be a good reader"
look ( reader = leader ) and do not be afraid or ashamed if your writing is not so good and if you have spelling mistakes or grammatical ones. Just write even wrong words because no one is perfect and "even Homer sometimes nods". So, you have to break the ice between you and English Language, and you have to think because "if you do not think, you will sink". And always keep in your mind this motto "No one is an island" and "No pain, no gain".
Finally, and this is a suggestion I hope you agree with me and accept it:
From my point of view I suggest that everyone of us try to put or suggest a topic or title and the task of others is to write paragraphs or essays on that topic, also each one of us put a mark that he/she suggest the composition deserve out of 100% and mark to the mistakes and write the corrections or the suggestions he/she thinks would be better if they replaced with the wrong ones.
So this is an invitation to every member in this forum to suggest a topic, and any topic which has more than three member's votes is accepted and others should began to write a paragraph on it in a period about approximatelly two days.
And many thanks for the active effective members on this site.

Good afternoon everyone!

Many thanks are given to darklight who accept my invitation. He is really hard worker member, this is number one. Number two: I hope to see participations from new members on this page. Third, Mr.Darklight ordered me to write a subject from my own pocket, so I am going to write a subject which is entitled 'Truth and Lie' I hope it to gain your admiration.

Truth and Lie

Every now and then, I wonder about those words because they play an important role in our lives, none of us, I think, is innocent and is not a liar. So I am going to argue this topic from many sides:
First, what is the meaning of the word 'truth'? If we want to define this word, we must go back to a speech by the greatest prophet Mohammed (peace be upon him) in which the Holy Speech says: ( and this is my own interpretation ) " ..... and maybe some of you to have more fluency than others, so I will judge as I hear........" . Thus, we will find that if we try to define truth, then it means we are going to define a thing which is in definition indefinable.
Then, let us try to find out why we, or people in general, cheat, lie, and deceive each other all the time. How can I portray that? It takes a God to do that. But let us say that the most important things for people are money, reputation, and the position. So nowadays we see a lot of people who do not mind to lie or cheat if they know that such deeds will pour the money on them. Here I remember a famous quotation by Moll Flanders (and she is a prostitute :a novel by Daniel Defoe) in which she says: "What a felicity! is that people cannot see inside the hearts of each others"
Therefore, now we reach to ask ourselves of what tell us the truth and what tell us a lie? I think that no one on this planet can do so. Aristotle who is the greatest philosopher says: "The real is unreal, the unreal is so real". So we conclude that the conscience play the most important role in our life, and we have a proverb in Arab countries says: "If you do not have modesty, then do whatever you want"
Finally, and this is an advice to all human beings. Try to be close to your God, and try to answer this question, what are you going to take with you in your journey to the grave? No thing, naught. So I say to who still want to posses the earth to look after himself or herself and to keep this words in his/her mind "the more you have, the more you lose" and "the more you have, the more you leave". To be honest, I think that each one of us has flaws in his/her personality, but the most lucky who knows his/her defect early.

Note: I am sorry for the lengthiness, and if you don't mind I hope (from members who are going to correct the subject and put their suggestions) to quote the wrong words, sentences, and maybe the whole subject! Who knows? And to arrange them as the following:
1- The form: [10 marks]
2- The content:
A- Spelling mistakes: In red color and then type the right replacement, each error 3 marks off (maximum 5 mistakes). [15 marks]
B- Grammatical mistakes: In green color and then type the right replacement, each error 3 marks off (maximum 5 mistakes). [15 marks]
C- The rest of the elements: [60 marks]

_ I hope next time to suggest a title and a topic before we start writing a subject.

1- We cannot add (s) after modal such as would, so we have to say (would like) instead of (would likes).
2- There is no need to repeat the pronoun (he) because the meaning is clear.
3- The pronoun I written always in a capital letter.
_ please, let us try to make the writings here as formal as possible.
Note: maybe I am wrong but if you have any comment write soon please.
'Nothing ventured nothing gained" and it means: Someone who doesn't try does not succeed, or if you try nothing, you will gain nothing.

This is my comment on your topic [ thursday, 28 February - 12:05 ]
First, for the mistakes I found nothing except the word "coose" in the last line which is (choose), this is number one.
2- I am not quite sure if we refer to the God with the pronoun (He or It). So I think it would be better if we repeat the same word, or if you have credible clue tell me please.
3- What is the meaning of GBA?
_ Concerning the idea, I have another concept:
I think that when God granted us brains or minds (only human beings), our role in the life began. So we move and act in extremely free manner and we are not predestined even at the least level, so that we are responsible of our behaviors and deeds. If not, I think God has no right to punish us for our sins if it was out of our free will or out of our self control. On the contrary this may incite us to be lazy and to say "everything is destined by the will of the God, so there is no way to change what has the fate wrote", and some others say "we are puppets in the hands of fate" I think, that such things are unacceptable at all. It is true that God knows everything even before it happens, but God does not drive you to any way (although he knows before what is the way you will choose).
_ Thank you very much Mr. DARKLIGHT for this topic and excuse me if I upset you, "for I am nothing if not critical" (Othello: by William Shakespeare). I think that you want to talk about this concept: "Does the human's deeds optional or obligatory?" and you chose the second. I request the rest of the members to vote on this topic because it is really important.

actually it is well known to everybody that capital HE is always used to refer to His holiness and when we use Him in second person pronoun we use "thou" as subject and "thee" as object that's to say "you"
concerning the GBA* OR GPA, it means General Points Average that somebody gets in schools or universities.

i do agree with you in your comment and i have never said that we are puppets in the hand of the Creator but we are moving in a road that have two ways and our brain and mind is the one that help us to choose so you are free in choosing but you still have only two ways to go and God knows what you are going to choose. believe me it is not a simple issue and i can't decide whether we are free or not. but this is our mind based in curiosity and doubt but we always trust in what has come in our holy Quran. we are free but God knows

I think, all of us, so to speak, including me, suffer from lack of words
and experience in English, especially English language students.

Why we do not make use of our spare time and try to improve our English
language through these days in making use and benefit from each other?

novels are: Jude the Obscure by Thomas Hardy and Wuthering Heights by Emily
Brontë.

of all I will thank you for your great efforts in this forum and concerning
your question "what are the courses that we should attend in the third
year?" actually, I do not know how to answer this big question, the exam
itself is easier than this question.

As you
know, for me, I attend criticism's lectures from a to z and then I failed in it
and I do not know why. At the same time, one of my friends passed in this
course and gained 70 marks although he does not know the face of its doctor, and
from the irony of fate is that he failed in five courses until the present
moment.

So,
I think that it is better to you to wash two dishes than to attend such a
course or even its exam itself, who knows?!!
